Rib Subluxation

A rib subluxation, also known as a rib dysfunction or rib joint dysfunction, is a condition in which one or more of the ribs become partially sublimated from the joints where they connect to the spine or sternum (breastbone).

This can cause pain and discomfort in the affected area, as well as difficulty breathing and movement. Rib subluxations are often caused by trauma to the chest or back, such as a fall, sports injury, or car accident. However, they can also be caused by poor posture, repetitive strain, or underlying joint or muscle problems.

Treatment for rib subluxations typically involves manual therapy, such as chiropractic manipulation, to realign the rib joint and reduce pain and discomfort. Rest, ice, and kinesiotaping may also be recommended to manage symptoms.
